Freya Baker-Duffin is a Director and Writer.Â
Freya's filmmaking work has earned her national recognition - including receiving the BFI's 'One to Watch' Award.
Her upcoming short, One of One Kind, is a quiet, poignant story about two priests preparing for a service: in their search for missing communion wafers, other discoveries come to light. The tender film touches on the vows we make: to the causes we believe in, and to ourselves.
In 2024, Freya's pitch earned her a place on the BFI NETWORK X Film Hub Midlands Short Film Development Programme, working with Script Editor Alexzandra Jackson to develop her short film Roach.
Her most recent script, Half Pint, has been shortlisted for the Academy Award Winning Slick Films Fund, with plans to go into production in 2026.
Freya has also worked with a team of commissioned writers, developing an upcoming scripted comedy series for RooScreen.
Her work directing shorts has led her to a campaign partnership with the National Express, focusing on accessibility and disability awareness.
Freya is currently available for narrative and commercial directing work - get in touch if you have a project you would like to work with Freya on.
